The following rules are for all administrators to oblige. Failure to apply these rules might lead to the removal of the administrator. All administrators should read this page very carefully to avoid any possible conflicts or embarrassments in the future.
- Read the general rules of the server before reading this page because some rules are shared between normal players and administrators.
- Remember that you are in the server to help others, not to bully them and show them your power.
- Administrators are not allowed to join clans; this is to ensure that everyone is equally treated.
- Administrators are not allowed to share their accounts with anyone else.
- Be friendly with everyone. Insulting players is not allowed at all. Administrators are not allowed to insult back if they were insulted. When someone is being disrespectful to you, you can warn him before taking action against him/her or directly take action without warning (kick or ban).
- Administrators will not have the option to change the map / or vote for another map before the current map is played at least 14 minutes.
- Make sure that server is running smoothly and friendly. Bad words should never be allowed from any player. You can warn a player to stop saying bad words, or take action without warning (kick or ban).
- Kick or ban hackers only when you are sure 100% that he/she is hacking. Never kick or ban someone just because other players are pressuring you to do so - You must spectate the potential hacker before taking action.
- Only change the map by voting and choosing the winning map. Never change the map without voting.
- When you ban someone, state a clear reason for banning. Bans that do not have clear reasons will be removed (unbanned).
- Treat everyone equally and fairly no matter how bad or good your relation with a player is. Follow the simple rules - take action against whoever is violating the rules no matter how close or far you are from that violator. I always give administrators an example that I (Whisper) once banned my own cousin for hacking.
- Never fight or argue with another administrator in the game and in front of everyone. All arguments with other administrators should be held privately. If the problem does not seem to be solved, contact the main administrator - Whisper.
- Do not create rules from your mind and force everyone else to follow.
Examples:
1) You can not force everyone to only play "A Long" in de_dust2. However, you can propose that only "A Long" will be played and everyone should agree.
2) You can not take action against someone who is constantly using shields or snipers...etc
3) You can not kick/ban someone because he/she is lagging. The server will take care of laggers.
- Administrators must apologize to players on wrongdoings if proved.
- Administrators are not allowed to kick players who are away from keyboard. The server is programmed to kick players who are away from keyboard if they are inactive for 70 seconds. However, due to some players tricking the afk kicker system, administrators are allowed to kick players who trick and avoid the afk kicker system (like holding some keyboard keys to keep moving around). - Administrators are not allowed to kick players who reconnect. The server will take care of this issue.
- Dubai Play Time Administrators are not allowed to administrate other servers. This is to ensure that we have dedicated Administrators.
- Administrators will be forgiven for misjudging wallers for a maximum of 3 times. If an administrator has a record of banning for "walling" and it turns out later that the judgement is wrong for more than 3 times, Whisper has the right to relieve (remove) that administrator from his/her duties. Each incorrect wall ban will be saved on the administrator's account for 3 months and then deleted. In other words, if an administrator wall bans incorrectly for 3 times within 3 months, he/she will be removed.
- Ban reasons must be clear, specfic, and without extra comments such as "get out" or "noob". Any ban reason that contains extra comments will be considered invalid and result in unban immediately. Administrators that include extra comments in their ban reasons repeatedly might have their accounts suspended.
- Banning someone because he/she did not e-mail you his/her demo is not allowed. Even if you suspect that someone is hacking, you either make sure that player is hacking and ban him/her otherwise do not bother players by asking them to send their demos just because you are suspicious. We join Dubai Play Time to play and enjoy our time, not to quit the game and e-mail our demos to administrators whenever they suspect that we hack. This logic of bullying will not be tolerated.
- Administrators must participate in the complaints section by reviewing demos and deciding whether the owner of the complaint is guilty or the administrator who banned him/her. Reasons such as "I do not have time to review demos" will not be accepted. If you do not have time for administrator duties, you need to step down from this position.
- Only Power Administrators are allowed to unban other administrators' bans. Non-Power Administrators are only allowed to unban their own bans.
